Analyzing Your Routine
So are you the kind of person who gets out every last second of sleep until the last moment when you finally have to jump up, scramble to get the kids ready and drink your coffee on the go? You’re yelling, you’re feeling stress, your anxiety is high before you’ve even done anything. So I’m here to tell you that you can flip this all around. These are some really simple things that you can do to actually change your day.
Go to Bed Earlier
So number one: the night before, go to bed earlier. My friends make fun of me for how early my family and I go to bed. It is actually laughable, but I think it makes a huge difference. Now don’t get me wrong, there are things about my routine I need to change to set myself up better for success, but going to bed early I’ve nailed that one. It’s really helpful to go to bed a little bit earlier than before.
Plan your Day and Wake up Earlier
Before you actually go to sleep, plan your next day. Make a list of your top priorities of things that you have to get done and things that you want to get done so when you wake up the next day you’ve already got that all thought through. This allows you the chance to give yourself some me time by waking up ten-twenty minutes earlier. Whatever it is, you’re giving yourself a chance to have that coffee with a paper, journal, listen to music, whatever it is that you need to do to help start your day. You’re giving yourself a few minutes to do that simply by getting up a little bit earlier.
Start Your Day off With Being Productive
The next thing to get to work. And I don’t mean actually go to work, I mean to get something done off your list that is going to motivate you for the day. So let’s say for me it’s hopping on and doing a Facebook live video. Get that out of the way. Do something productive. Feel good about how you’re starting your day and the whole rest of your day is going to feel productive.
