I want to share with you what I’ve learned recently, and it has to do with the correlation between attitude and success.
Guess what! Attitude is everything! In fact Oprah said it best. She said you can change your future by changing your attitude. I ask – is it really that simple? Can you really change your future by changing your attitude? The answer is a resounding YES!
The good news is, its entirely doable. The bad news is it’s not easy.
According to Success magazine, we all have a choice. We can choose that voice inside our head to be one of self encouragement and self motivation. OR one of self defeat and self pity. We all have the power to make this choice. Taking it one step further, we all encounter challenges, hard times, hurt feelings on the journey of building a business. And the one thing we can control is not what happens to you, but how you choose to respond. That inner voice of yours is the software that programs your computer brain. YOU have control over the programming. Whatever you put in, is what’s reflected out. The most influential voice we have, is our own voice. It can be optimistic or pessimistic; wear you down or cheer you on. A lot of consistent work is required to alter a habitual bad attitude.
Here are a few of my favorite strategies that Success magazine has offered to help improve your attitude:
- You must reprogram your subconscious with positive thinking. Write down some positive messages that you see throughout the day. Keep them in your phone, for example. When repeated to yourself you are sending a positive response to your subconscious, which triggers a positive feeling.
- The power of visualization. This is so fascinating to me. Do you know that studies show that most great athletes, surgeons, engineers and artists use visualization to enhance their skills? Nelson Mandela has written excessively on how visualization helped him maintain being positive while being imprisoned for 27 years. Visualization works to improve staying positive.
- Enthusiasm is to attitude what breathing is to life. That bears repeating: enthusiasm is to attitude what breathing is to life. Isn’t that astounding! Enthusiasm means putting yourself in motion. Enthusiasm is the burning desire that communicates commitment, determination and spirit. This is one of the most empowering and attractive characteristics you have.
I’ll leave you with a visual, consider this if each Letter has a numerical value check this out knowledge equals 96 hard work equals 98 clearly we need both knowledge and hard work. attitude equals 100 Soremember your attitude needs to be worked on every day to change for the better imagine you can change your future by changing your attitude
