This weekend our family celebrated a fantastic milestone. It was a wonderful weekend with family and friends and after it was over I reflected on time. Preparing, organizing, planning, working hard, and sometimes worrying. And how the weekend went by so fast – it was all over so quickly. The weekend ended, life quickly returned to normal and we were left feeling happy and satisfied, with a touch of bittersweet thrown in.
I thought about how time relates to life.
Life is busy – we’re all busy. We often feel like we can manage the things we want to do. Or maybe if we’re being honest with ourselves, maybe we use being busy as the excuse to NOT do the things we really want to do. It’s so easy to say I don’t have the time or the time isn’t right.
But really the lesson that I learned last weekend is that we all have time until we don’t.
Time is the excuse, but FEAR is the reason that people don't do things they want to do. Click To TweetFear of the unknown, fear of what others may think, fear of failure, and mostly fear in themselves – the lack of belief in themselves. And this leads me to one more concept that I really just recently learned about: the concept of prepaving.
Prepaving is this – the results that you are seeing in your life right now you have been prepaving. Many have an adverse reaction to this concept. One of – what did I do wrong to put me in this place I don’t want to be in. But in fact, by digging a little deeper into this prepaving concept one should be thrilled! Thrilled to understand that you can decide which direction you are going.
You can prepave your results. Life is not up to chance. You pave the way. You decide which direction you are going. Don’t use time as the excuse to keep going down the path you want to turn off of. The choice is yours. All you’ve got is time.
